6 Reasons Why You Aren’t Burning Fat

Not burning fat? The fix may be easier than you think! Here are my top 6 reasons why you may not be reaching your fat loss goals.

1. You aren’t focusing on the big rocks.

A woman who maintains a lean physique is staying CONSISTENT (not necessarily perfect) every single day. She is not jumping from one fad diet to another each week. She’s not stressing about organic lemons in her water. What are some of the big rocks? Nutritional compliance (even on the weekends!), adequate protein & dark green veggies, SLEEP, weight training, hydration, portion control, tracking your food intake & stress management. Get these big rocks down solid, before you tackle the little rocks.

2. You aren’t practicing willpower.

What’s fascinating about human psychology is that willpower is actually LEARNED. Just like any other practice, you can teach your brain to say no. Positive habits become easier over time, and eventually, second nature!

Do you have to say no to pizza every time? Of course not! BUT, once you have learned control, you can CHOOSE when you REALLY want the pizza (ie: social occasions & special events, treat meal, fitting it into your macros) vs. just always giving in because it’s available or in front of you.

3.  You aren’t placing your energy in the kitchen.

A common fallacy is that exercise is the ideal way to achieve fat loss. Here’s the deal… Exercise is beneficial for your heart, stress management and building lean muscle tissue (which increases your metabolic rate), but it does not always equate to fat loss. The majority of your fat loss results come from what you EAT.

4. You’re doing what works for your girlfriend, but not for YOU.

Our bodies are so individual, it’s mind blowing. This means the “diet plan” your friend is following may not yield identical results. Several variables play into fat loss, so take time to listen to YOUR body, your bio-feedback and your individual response.

5. You don’t REALLY want it.

Your WHY power must be personal and greater than any obstacle. Is your health costing you time with loved ones? Money? Stress? Poor job performance? Weigh out what it’s really worth for you. Don’t wait until you hit rock bottom to finally change your ways.

6. You don’t have a good support system.
